"Eating out" in Sacramento in the summertime often means the backyard, a destination likely to be more popular this year as residents deal with high fuel prices and a shaky economy.
So roll out the grill, select less costly cuts of protein to toss over the coals, and cruise the wine department for a wine compatible with both entree and pocketbook.
As we drew up this year's guide to wines to go with popular grilled foods, we looked specifically for high-value releases priced $15 or less...

A rosé also will work well with lightly seasoned chicken.
