Admiring some fine syrah

"When it's done right, grenache can be enormously seductive, with its lush strawberry fruit. But getting it right can be tricky, because grenache can easily get too alcoholic, overwhelming that beautiful fruit. It also oxidizes easily. Although it's associated with the Rhone, grenache is believed to have originated in Spain, where it's called garnacha. Garnacha/grenache is a key player in Spain's Priorat region and France's Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but in both cases it's often blended with other grapes...
